Good post and good recap on what Mez brings (and doesn't bring) to the table.

The thing I wonder is if there is even a market for Mez at this point to work with, in terms of trading him. Bad enough Homer is probably going to get 60 cents on the dollar for what you'd get for a healthy Mez, but Mez's cap hit combined with his injury history makes me wonder who would want him without the Flyers either eating some money or some assurance on Mez's health.

Mesz, 41st and a later pick to Calgary for 28th overall. It might be an over payment to move up 13 spots but its an overpayment I'll gladly make.

Wasn't Winter the agent for Ron Hextall when Hexy held out for a better deal way back in the day?

Sounds to me like his agent is doing everything he can to get him bought out. Remember, more money for his client means more money for himself.

I'm in the minority in hoping the Flyers keep their defenseman. The chances that all of these guys come back from injury and play most of the games next season are incredibly slim. You have guys coming off multiple concussions and major surgeries. It's better to have too many dmen than not enough.

Problem is, trading him he brings next to nothing except salary relief.

For a team that badly needs it Im fine with that....On the Bryz story I would have liked some names who reported the bragging but I dont doubt he did. What a disaster this turned out to be...Also confirms that Flyers bidded against themselves when they signed Bryz.

I've been a Bryz supporter, but at this point, I just want him bought out and sent somewhere else.

What a jerk this guy turned out to be. Good riddance to bad rubbish. I've just boarded the "amnesty bryzgalov" bandwagon.

He's just such a head case. In the beginning when he struggled he said it was ALL his fault. Now, it's everybody else's fault!

Here's a beauty from (frank) Seravalli today

"It's OK, guys," Bryzgalov said, according to a teammate, speaking on a condition of anonymity. "I will get bought out. I will get paid for this deal and I will get paid double to play for a new team somewhere else."

The fact that this guy has a job is a disgrace. I believe that line is a complete fabrication by (frank). Either name the "player" who said it, or don't use it

No we may get at least another year of it because they don't trust mason, really could we do any worse letting the kid play?
The goalie coach loves him, he like it here, gets along with his teammates gives us an element of puck movement as well as quickness we haven't had.

Where as the other guy doesn't like it here, complains, cashes huge checks and point fingers.
